Summit County Real Estate and Ski Passes

Even if you don't already own Summit County real estate, if you plan to ski in the area this winter you'll want to take advantage of the great ski pass deals available.

Be in the know and don't buy individual lift tickets - do what most Front Rangers and owners of Breckenridge homes, Keystone condos and other locals do - get a pass.  It's worth it.  Skiers and snowboarders who spend more than a few days at the many ski resorts in Summit and Eagle Counties will benefit from the amazing deals that are on offer.

The Colorado Pass gives you unlimited access to Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Keystone with 10 days and Vail, Beavercreek or Heavenly (with some limited black-out dates), for $439 (price as of Sept 5th, 2009).  You'll need to buy your Colorado Pass in person the first time, but once you have it you can renew online or over the phone every year.  Some Summit County real estate owners and vacationers actually fly out here the first time just to get it, since it is only available during the shoulder seasons! So you can't show up in January and expect to get it.  If you already live in Colorado, consider yourself lucky and go get it now at the designated locations. You can also get the Summit Pass for $399 that does not include the days at Vail and Beavercreek, but really, for an extra $40 give yourself the chance to have a powder day in the back bowls! Of course you can buy that one online, so if you can't get here soon that may be a good compromise.

The Epic Pass includes everything the Colorado Pass does except you also get unlimited access to Vail and Beavercreek, plus you can buy it online, for $599k.  That's a smokin' deal if you're planning to go to Vail and Beavercreek a ton, or you will be there on vacation for a week or more.  However most Summit County locals tend to get the Colorado Pass since getting over to Vail and Beavercreek more than 10 times a year is a stretch for those of us who have to work!

Copper has some great options as well. They are currently offering the classic four-packs for $119, which are a sweet deal if you can only come four times.  A Copper-only unlimited pass is only $359, and for $399 you can have unlimited access to Winter Park as well.  More expensive options give you time at Steamboat, too.

Where else but this area of Colorado can you get such easy and affordable access to so much amazing skiing?
